How much is that trolley of Alcohol?

Most of us love a drink right? it's Friday.. or Monday orrr just any day.

So having cut out drink for 12 months and only recently "wet my whistle" again.. it has become apparently about the shock you are faced in the total box on the receipt when you add Alcohol to the shop! For example dinner for two from any supermarket might be anywhere between £18 - £25 but add a bottle of plonk and you are looking north of £35!

My question is that £10 you spend.. or more if you like more than a bottle or a few beers to wash it down.. what is it doing for you? what are the benefits of these magical potions... a hangover, sluggish, bloated, compromised immune system, weight gain are all definitely NOT benefits, I know that much.

What other things in life would you spend upwards of £10 on to make absolutely zero positive impact on your life? yes i am obviously talking from a bias POV but really.. what?

There are other things as addictive that also produce the "feel good" factor that are much cheaper.. a 5k run, that is free, a Hike if a run is beyond you, a Gym session maybe £3 but yet we choose to spend more than that on the thing that damages us the most?

Okay so it has it's winding down, destressing properties (or so we tell ourselves) but so does a Cold Water Dip, Meditation, A run...

I'm not here to tell you to stop but I am here to tell you to think... and try.

Good Luck in whatever you decide, Cheers!
