From Rob starting his running coach business I knew at some point I would need to join as a client. Following a chance meeting at ParkRun Lyme Park, I thought it would be the perfect timing as I was 5 weeks out from the half marathon. As a runner I was knocking down my 5k times considerably. However, long distance was not something I was accustom to. Rob was fantastic at breaking down the training, at no point did I feel overwhelmed and I felt safe with him guiding me through. I really enjoyed the mixture of pacing and running routes, from hill runs in Lyme park to interval training on flat. The training remained engaging throughout and Rob was a great Hypeman. What I also appreciated was the fact Rob is a practitioner! To have a coach who lives and breaths what he coaches and is performing at a high level in his own right, I feel amplifies the trust and respect between him as a coach and you as a client. If you are telling me as a coach " this is what you need to
do, this is what I do and this is what can be achieved" it's hard as a client at that point not to say " Fuck it! I'm all in on this. I want my own fucking medal!" And that is exactly what I did. Finally, with any coach and with any plan , the client themselves needs to motivated and want to achieve. Rob will be there along the journey, sometimes side by side and 100% at the finish line to cheer you on. But what he isn't doing is waking you up on a rainy Monday morning for that run you have scheduled in on your plan. At that moment, that's you! You have to get your arse out of bed. So if you have a goal in mind, 5k , 10k , half , marathon , Rob is the coach just ensure his 1000% commitment is met by your own.
