A Guide on what to expect for a Sports Massage..

If you are coming for your first sports massage, here is a guide to help you prepare and know what to expect:


1. Wear comfortable clothing: Sports massage involves movement and stretching, so it's best to wear loose-fitting clothes that allow for easy movement, Shorts are ideal. Avoid wearing jewellery or anything that might get in the way during the massage. Ladies, It may be logical to think sports bra but actually a more conventional bra is much more suitable when coming for a back, neck and shoulder massage,


2. Arrive early: Arrive at least 5 minutes early to fill out any necessary paperwork and to allow yourself time to relax and get comfortable.


3. Discuss your goals: Before the massage begins, talk to your massage therapist about your goals and any specific areas of concern. This will help them customize the massage to your needs.


4. Communication is key: During the massage, don't be afraid to communicate with your therapist. If something doesn't feel right or if the pressure is too much, speak up. Your therapist wants you to be comfortable and get the most out of the massage.


5. Be prepared for movement: Unlike traditional massages, sports massage involves movement and stretching. Your therapist may ask you to move your limbs in specific ways or may move them for you. This is normal and helps to increase flexibility and range of motion.


6. Drink plenty of water: After the massage, it's important to drink plenty of water to help flush out any toxins released during the massage.


7. Follow any post-massage instructions: Your therapist may give you specific instructions to follow after the massage, such as stretching or avoiding certain activities. Make sure to follow these instructions to get the most benefit from your massage.


Remember, sports massage is designed to help you recover from physical activity and prevent injury. It may be uncomfortable at times, but it should never be painful. If you have any concerns or questions, don't hesitate to speak with your therapist.
